After a long time, X (formerly Twitter) will finally be back in operation in Brazil. In the past hours, it had emerged that the Attorney General’s Office was in favour of the social network’s return to Brazil, as all the demands of the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court of Brazil, Alexandre de Moraes, had been met and fines duly paid.
Now, the Federal Supreme Court (STF) minister has authorised the return of the X platform to Brazil. Moraes gave up to 24 hours for the resumption of the platform’s activities in Brazil. Here are the details
Expected announcement for Brazilian users!
Alexandre de Moraes, Minister of the Federal Supreme Court of Brazil, said the following about the decision to lift the ban of the X platform in the country:
‘I order the termination of the suspension and authorise the immediate return of the activities of X Brasil Internet ltda. I order the national territory and Anatel (National Telecommunications Authority) to take the necessary measures to implement the measure. The Supreme Court will execute this decision within 24 (twenty-four) hours.’
Depending on internet providers, the X platform will begin to return today for some users in the country. Starting tomorrow, the platform will be active again for all users in Brazil.
The return of the social network was only possible after the payment of a certain amount of fines for non-compliance with the court order. X initially deposited this amount into an incorrect account. However, this error was soon corrected and the transfer was made. Billionaire Elon Musk has not made any comments about X’s return to Brazil for now.
So what do you think about this?
